Three Inmates Escape White County Jail

   Three inmates have escaped from the White County jail in Carmi. The jail-break occurred at around 3 a.m. this morning. White County Sheriff Doug Maier says a pipe was used to break a hole in the outside concrete block and brick wall. Outside surveillance video showed the three escapees running on foot down an alleyway at 3:05 a.m. The jail escape wasn’t discovered until around 5:30 a.m. The escapees have been identified as 24 year-old Zachery Shock of McLeansboro, who is awaiting trial in Hamilton County on a charge of first-degree murder. Also missing is 28 year-old Justin Bray of Grayville, who was awaiting trial on charges of unlawful use of a weapon, resisting or obstructing a peace officer and aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude. The third escapee has been identified as 61 year-old Johnny Tipton of Campton, Kentucky, in jail on a charge of theft and possession of stolen property. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the escapees should contact the White County Sheriff’s Department at 618-382-5321 or their local law enforcement office. All three are considered dangerous. Do not attempt to approach any of the escapees.
