HERTA WINS INDY LIGHTS FREEDOM 100 ON CARB DAY

Colton Herta held off two contenders down the final straightaway Friday to win the Indy Lights Freedom 100 on Carb Day at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The victory allowed the Andretti-Steinbrenner driver to sweep all three prelininary races at the track this month. Meanwhile Tony Kanaan paced the field for the 500 in the final practice Friday. He turned a lap of 227.791 mph. Scott Dixon was next fastest followed by Michael Andretti and Sebastien Bourdais. Ed Carpenter is on the pole for the Indianapolis 500 Sunday.
