One of two men connected with the murder of a Decker man last May was sentenced to 60 years in prison late Wednesday afternoon in Knox Superior Court One. 27 year-old Christopher Schatz, Junior pleaded guilty to one count of murder in the death of John “Doug” Lowe. Lowe was shot to death in his Decker apartment on May 3rd, 2017. The 60 year sentence was part of a plea agreement. 15 years of the sentence will be suspended to supervised probation. Christopher Schatz will also receive credit for time served. The agreement also calls for Schatz to testify against co-defendant Jeremy Schatz if necessary.
