Former Cub Dexter Fowler hit a two run homer with two outs in the bottom of the 14th inning at Busch Stadium early Monday morning to help the St Louis Cardinals finish a weekend sweep of the Chicago Cubs 4-3. The win was the 5th in a row for the Redbirds and the loss the 5th in a row for the Cubs. Javier Baez had blasted a solo homer in the top of the 14th to give the Cubs the lead, but reliever Luke Farrell after getting the first two batters out allowed an infield hit to Harrison Bader setting up Fowler’s heroics. Mike Mayers picked up the win in relief. Kris Bryant also homered for the Cubs. They are back at Wrigley Field Monday night to open up a three game series with the Miami Marlins. It will be Jarlin Garcia (1-0) for the Marlins and Kyle Hendricks (2-2) for the Cubs. Catch the action on Lite 103 WAKO beginning with the pregame show at 6:30p.m. Central Time 7:30 Eastern.
