CUBS WIN FIFTH IN A ROW

The Chicago Cubs recieved another day of strong pitching as they ran their winning streak to 5 in a row. Jon Lester worked into the sixth inning and relievers Luke Farrell and Steve Cishek finished up a 3-2 win over the Colorado Rockies in game one of their three game series at Wrigley Field. Kris Bryant scored on Anthony Rizzo’s grounder in the bottom of the sixth to break a 2-2 tie. Albert Almora Jr and Addison Russell each had RBI hits for the Cubs, who are six games over 500. Game two of the series is under the lights Tuesday with Jon Gray (2-4) pitching for the Rockies and Kyle Hendricks (2-1) for the Cubs.
