A Vincennes man was arrested following an accident near Sunday evening. 12th and Main. Vincennes City Police received word of a truck striking a telephone pole near the intersection of 12th and Main, and leaving the scene. Police stopped a Chevy S-10 matching the description of the truck allegedly involved in the accident a short time later. The driver was identified as 54 year-old Todd Beyer. Beyer’s truck was stopped following a routine traffic violation 10th and Perry. Police discovered that Beyer was driving with a blood-alcohol content above the legal driving limit. Beyer was charged with operating while intoxicated, and leaving the scene of an accident.
