Lawrenceville Indian sophomore Cale Powell competed with other shooters from across the state of Illinois Thursday in the Class 2A preliminaries of the Country Financial Three Point Showdown at Carver Arena in Peoria. He made 7 shots from beyond the arc in Group Two competition but did not advance to the finals being held Friday. He did finish third in Group Two. The winning total was 11 with three others hitting 10 in Class 2A.
