INDIANS FALL TO MAROONS

The Lawrenceville basketball Indians returned to action Thursday night and were beaten by visiting Robinson at LHS 62-41. Walker Sandschafer of the Maroons led the way with 23 points in the win. He also scored the 1000th point of his career in the game. Branton Scott added 10 for Robinson. The Maroons led by 7 after one quarter and broke the game open by outscoring the Tribe 24 to 9 in the second quarter to lead 40-18 at the half. Zeus Marsh was the only Indian in double figures with 16 points. The Indians did win the JV game 52-40 with Skyler Tewell scoring 15 and Cale Powell and Noah Weger each adding 11.  The loss drops the Indians to 3-12 overall and 1-3 in conference play. The Indians are back in action Friday night as they face Paris in a first round game of the boys Little Illini Conference tournament at Red Hill at 7 p.m.
