The Sumner City Council met in a re-scheduled session Tuesday. The City Council heard an update from Mayor Betty Brian on the state prison water bill situation. The city is owed approximately $85,000 by the state. Brian said $50,000 is available at the state comptroller’s office and she’s just waiting for them to release the money. Brian also said she’s reached out to Senators Dale Righter & David Reis for assistance in getting the money. The council also approved $2,000 for the purchase of a culvert for the city park.
