INDIANS UPSET MARSHALL

The Lawrenceville basketball Indians upset the Marshall Lions in LIC competition Tuesday night at home 47-44. The Tribe led 9-8 after one quarter, 19-13 at the half, and 34-26 after three quarters. The Lions made a furious rally in the fourth quarter and briefly took the lead, but the Indians responded and took back the lead and made plays and hit free throws down the stretch to pick up the win. Leading the scoring for the victors-Zeus Marsh and Blayne Winningham each with 11 while 6’7″ center Jesse Burdick led Marshall with a game high 25 points. The Lions won the JV game 56-43. Skyler Tewell had 17 and Cale Powell and Noah Weger added 11 each. With the win, the Indians improve to 3-11 overall and are 1-3 in conference play. Next action for the squad is Friday at Newton.
