Robert Verlin Perrott, 86, of Sumner, Illinois passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at the United Methodist Village-North Campus in Lawrenceville, Illinois. He was born April 2, 1931 in Sumner, Illinois, the son of Lotus Shelby and Alta Fern (Neikirk) Perrott. He married Virginia Sue Groff on December 23, 1950 and she preceded him in death on September 18, 2016.

Robert was a member of the Millwrights Local Union 1076 United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America for 52 years and an Army veteran, serving in the Korean War. He attended the Sumner United Methodist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one son, Steve Perrott; two sisters, Jean Waldrop and infant, Lilly Mae Perrott; and one granddaughter Jamie Ann Weger.

Survivors include his two sons, Tim Perrott and wife, Andrea, of Vincennes, Indiana and Terry Perrott of Sumner, Illinois; two daughters, Cindy Hasler and husband, Rick, of Bridgeport, Illinois and Ann Byrer and husband, Butch, of Bicknell, Indiana; daughter-in-law, Karen Leist of Olney, Illinois; two brothers, Tom Perrott and wife, Sally, of Olney, Illinois and Bill Perrott and wife, Carolyn, of Sumner, Illinois; one sister, Betty Mitchell of Independence, Missouri; one brother-in-law, Dene Waldrop and wife, Sandy, of Sumner, Illinois; four sisters-in-law, Peggy Sanchez and husband, Eddie, of Rancho Cucamonga, California, Nancy Osoff-Kopp of La Verne, California, Mary West of Allendale, Illinois, and Flossie Smith of San Diego, California; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 10:00 AM CST at the Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner, Illinois. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM CST at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Sumner Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the VFW. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Robert’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Lawrence County Cancer Resource Center and Wig Shoppe, or the United Methodist Village-North Campus Activity Fund.
