Louise “Lou” Boatman, age 95 of Bridgeport, passed away Sunday, December 31, 2017 in Robinson at Heritage Health. She was born in Bluffton, IN on September 1, 1922 to James William Julian and his wife Mary Alice (Woodruff) Julian.
In 1940, Lou married Russell E. Boatman in Bridgeport. He preceded her in death on January 10, 1990.
As an active woman, Lou was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church of Bridgeport, a 4-H leader when her children were growing up, a member of the local home extension, and enjoyed her card clubs. She was a devoted homemaker to her family as well.
Surviving family includes: one daughter- Leslie Hollensbe and her husband Bob of Robinson: five grandchildren- Theresa Wallace, Joni Goodall, Dwayne Simon, Jacqui Hollensbe, and Taryn Nidey: nine great-grandchildren- Ashley Wagner, Hunter Wallace, Chase Wallace, Sydney Simon, Tanner Goodall, Ashlyn Goodall, Russell Nidey, Quinnen Nidey, and Linsten Nidey: and one great-great-granddaughter- Adalyn Wagner and another one due in August.
She was preceded in death by: her husband- Russell E. Boatman (1990): her parents- James William Julian and Mary Alice Julian: one daughter- Barbara Kay Simon (1994): and five siblings.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the Cunningham Funeral Home in Bridgeport. There will be no time of visitation.
