Two Robinson women are dead following a single vehicle accident near Philo, Illinois in Champaign County Tuesday afternoon. According to Illinois State Police, 78-year-old Karan Shonk and 55-year-old Jennifer Tracy were passengers in a Ford Edge S-U-V operated by an 81-year-old male driver, also from Robinson, when they left Illinois 130 about 3 miles south of Philo for an unknown reason and collided with a tree. Shonk and Tracy were both pronounced dead. The driver of the Edge was treated for non-life threatening injuries. Authorities had the highway closed for more than an hour while authorities investigated the crash. Police are still investigating what caused the crash.
