Lawrence County Man Convicted of Attempted Murder Sentenced

A Lawrence County man found guilty on multiple charges stemming from a shooting in May was sentenced late last week. 49 year-old Danny Sandlin of St. Francisville was accused of shooting at a tractor driver in rural Lawrence County back in May. Sandlin was found guilty last month on charges of attempted first degree murder, aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon and aggravated discharge of a firearm. Lawrence County Circuit Court Judge Robert Hopkins sentenced Sandlin to 32 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. If released, Sandlin will also face three years of mandatory supervised probation. Sandlin will be given credit for time served in the Lawrence County Jail.
