Frederick Matthew Ohl, Jr., age 73 of Flora and formerly of St. Francisville, passed away Monday, December 11, 2017 at Flora Gardens Care Center. He was born June 3, 1944 in Champaign to Frederick Matthew Ohl, Sr. and his wife Emma F. (Baum) Stangle.
As a young man, Fred served his country as a member of the United States Army for 2 ½ years during the Vietnam War. He was also a member of the Emmanuel Tabernacle of St. Francisville.
Surviving family includes: his mother- Emma Stangle of St. Francisville: five siblings- Nancy Walker of Decatur, Frank Ohl of Dallas, TX, Marcia Cochran and husband Bob of Lawrenceville, Don Stangle and wife Lynn of St. Francisville, and Viola Steckler and husband Phil of Mt. Carmel: nine nieces and nephews, and five great- nieces and great- nephews.
A graveside service will be held for Fred Ohl at 11:15 a.m. on Friday, December 15, 2017 at Oaklawn Cemetery in St. Francisville. Visitation will be held Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Emmanuel Tabernacle in St. Francisville. Cunningham Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
