The 8 team Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce sponsored Basketball Capital Classic got underway Friday at both Lawrenceville and Red Hill high schools. At Lawrenceville in the first session it was Teutopolis 60 Marshall 33 and Fairfield 65 Lawrenceville 48. The evening session found Teutopolis winning over Fairfield 58-43 and Marshall beating Lawrenceville 52-25. At Bridgeport in the early session Salem beat Red Hill 51-48 and defending champion Mt. Carmel rolled over Olney 59-26. In the evening action, Mt. Carmel edged Salem 55-54 and Olney handled Red Hill 57-45. Play continues Saturday at both sites in the morning with the championship session starting at 3:30 p.m. at Red Hill.
