National Weather Service Confirms Tornado in Richland County

The National Weather Service has confirmed that there was a tornado in Richland County Sunday evening.  A High Precipitation supercell thunderstorm produced a tornado in northwest Richland County about 3 miles north of Noble at 5:24 pm on Sunday. The tornado was on the ground for nearly seven miles and nine minutes before dissipating about 3 miles north-northwest of Olney. Other severe thunderstorms during the late afternoon Sunday produced large hail, damaging winds and very heavy rain in parts of east central and southeast Illinois.
