Mary Kathryn Pierson, 89, of Allendale, IL passed away November 5, 2017 at the United Methodist Village North Campus in Lawrenceville, IL.
Kathryn was born April 25, 1928 in Lawrence County, IL, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Violet (Saltsgaver) Grounds. She married James O. Pierson on May 22, 1951, and he preceded her in death on January 1, 2004.
Kathryn is survived by three children: Anthony and Phyllis (Slingsby) Pierson of Valparaiso, IN; Deborah (Pierson) and Mike Marcotte of Suplhur, LA; and Greg and Kim (Reiber) Pierson of Allendale, IL. Other survivors include ten grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and two brothers: Jack (Jill) Grounds and Donald Grounds.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and four brothers: William Grounds, Joseph Grounds Jr., Bobby Grounds, and Jerry Grounds.
Mrs. Pierson was a homemaker, and enjoyed quilting, sewing, and crocheting. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Allendale, IL.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Ingram Funeral Home in Allendale, IL. Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 10, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Ingram Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Allendale Cemetery.
