John P. Fisher, age 68, of Sumner, Illinois, passed away Saturday November 4, 2017, at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville, Illinois.
He was born March 9, 1949 in Vincennes, Indiana, the son of Stanley and Jeanette (Severns) Fisher. He married Susan Meadows on June 09, 1968, and she survives.
John was a farmer. He was a member of the Central Christian Church in Sumner, Illinois where he taught Sunday school and served as an Elder. He was a member of the Farm Bureau. He enjoyed his grandchildren’s sporting events. He coached Little League Baseball. He enjoyed golfing and fishing.
Survivors include: his wife Susan; three daughters, Stacey Stout and her husband Dee of Sumner, IL, Tina Middagh and her husband Jesse of Plainfield, IL, and Mitsey Weston and her husband Tony of Sumner, IL, and one sister Karen Leighty and her husband Glenn of St. Francisville, IL, and seven grandchildren: Kelsey Stout, Kendahl Stout, Cameron Middagh, Kyle Middagh, Danielle Middagh, Isabella Weston, and Lilly Weston.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers: James Michael Fisher and Donald Wayne Fisher.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 08, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at the Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner, Illinois. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Cresthaven Memorial Park Cemetery.
