Helen Waggoner Crouch

Helen Waggoner Crouch, age 91 of Bridgeport, passed away Friday, October 13, 2017 at the United Methodist Village-North Campus. She was born August 16, 1926 in Lawrence County to Alva Martin Waggoner and his wife Mamie Pearl (Cummins) Waggoner.

On January 30, 1947 in Pinkstaff, Wilber Crouch married Helen, and he preceded her in death September in 1997.

Helen has been a long-time member of the Bridgeport Assembly of God Church and a licensed beautician for 25 years. Helen enjoyed playing the piano, crocheting, and truly loved her grandchildren and spending as much time with them as she could. Anyone who knew Helen knew that she was a junk food junkie and loved her chocolate.

Surviving family includes: one daughter-Lynn Tumey and husband Kenny of Mesquite, TX: three sons- Wag Crouch and wife Ramona of Bridgeport, Carter Crouch III and wife Juanita of Clinton, IN, and Wilber Crouch, Jr. and his wife Dinah of Hillsdale, IN: two sisters- Verlin Ash Fox and Dorothy Hobbs: twelve grandchildren- Wilber Crouch III, Matt Crouch, Andrew Crouch, Amber Helt, Carter Crouch IV, Niecei Ash, Loren Crouch, Wag Crouch, Chelsea Johnston, Kaylynn Crouch, Marcolynn Enloe, and Kendra Hamilton: thirty-eight great-grandchildren: five great-great-grandchildren: and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, her husband, four brothers (Charles, Coy, Wayman, and Steve Waggoner), five sisters (Alberta, Bonnie, Vivian, Crystal, and Kate), one granddaughter (Rachel Crouch), and one great-grandson (Selby Crouch).

A funeral service for Helen Waggoner Crouch will be held a t 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at the Cunningham Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Visitation will be held at the funeral Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again Thursday 12:00 noon until service time at 1:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Bridgeport City Cemetery.
