Robert L. Clutts, 84, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away Thursday, September 21, 2017 at his residence. He was born December 16, 1932 in Massac County, Illinois, the son of Jacob and Della (Staton) Clutts. He married Mary Elizabeth Thompson on December 24, 1983 and she preceded him in death in November of 2013.
Bob worked at the Power Plant in Massac County, Illinois; in the maintenance department at Deewood Nursing Home in Sumner, Illinois; and as chief engineer for the Cooperation Tole and Association on East Lake Shore Drive in Chicago, Illinois. He was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Flat Rock, Illinois and was a gospel singer.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife; one son, Michael Clutts; three sisters, Mary Ann Perdew, Helen Rick, and Evelyn Barger; and one great-grandson, Bryton Nicolini.
Survivors include one daughter, Lora Davis and husband, Andy, of Kannapolis, North Carolina; one step-son, Jan Morlan and wife, Pam, of Lawrenceville, Illinois; four step-daughters, Shelene Morlan of Gainesboro, Tennessee, Colene Russell and husband, Don, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, Jolene Willis of Lawrenceville, Illinois, and Beth Burson of Lawrenceville, Illinois; one brother, William Clutts of Paducah, Kentucky; ten grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews
Funeral services will be Monday, September 25, 2017 at 11:00 AM CST at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be Monday from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM CST at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Jones Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Bob’s memory may be made to Hospice of Southeastern Illinois.
