Trucker arrested in July fatal crash on US 50

   The trucker who allegedly was under the influence of drugs when he caused the death of two men in Clay County, Illinois on July 27th has been arrested. 62 year-old Walter B. Pollock of Sikeston, Missouri, is charged with eight different counts in the accident on U.S. Route 50 at Stanford Street in Flora. 29 year-old Eric Bossel of Noble and 27 year-old Jacob Russell Stewart of Olney were killed in the accident. Pollock is charged with three counts of aggravated driving under the influence of drugs, two counts of reckless homicide, and one count each of unlawful possession of methamphetamine, being an on-duty commercial driver driving under the influence of drugs and possession of drugs by on-duty commercial driver. Pollock was released from Clay County Jail on $25,000 bond. He is next due in court at 10:30 a.m. September 13th for a preliminary hearing.
