Illinois 15th District Congressman John Shimkus was in Lawrence and Wabash Counties this morning. Shimkus made a stop at the Pleasant Ridge Christian Church in Pinkstaff at 7:30 a.m. to participate in a roundtable with the Lawrence and Crawford Farm Bureaus. He then visited the Lawrence County Ambulance Service in for a FEMA grant announcement. The Ambulance Service received an Assistance to Firefighters Grant and it will be used to purchase new cardiac monitors and defibrillators. Finally, Shimkus will be at the Mt. Carmel Senior Center at 10 a.m. for an AT&T Seminar on Smart Phones and Tablets that helps seniors learn to use their technology.
