Bertha Marie Conrad

Bertha Marie Conrad, 92, Vincennes, formerly of Bicknell, passed away peacefully in the hands of her daughters on her birthday, August 10, 2017 at Good Samaritan Hospital.

She was born August 10, 1925 in Freelandville to Irvin and Ilma (Groteguth) Linneweber.

Bertha had worked as a Nurse’s Assistant for Moore’s Nursing Home in Bicknell and was a member of the Bethel Church in Freelandville.  In her younger days she volunteered for the North Knox Social Ministries. She enjoyed gardening, jigsaw puzzles, and word search puzzles. She had a great sense of humor and beautiful smile.  She was a single parent who raised her children to be responsible and hard working. She was her family’s hero.

Surviving are her children, Joan (Mitch) Goodman of Fort Branch, Judy (Don) Kerzan of Vincennes, Brenda (Randy Barker) Dalton of Vincennes, and Joe (Eloise) Gray of Amarillo, Texas; a sister, Agnes Lee of Vincennes; a sister in law, Vera Linneweber of Washington; her grandchildren, Lisa Stewart, Teresa (Bradley) Norman, Christa (Rhonda Alexander) Brown, Jeffrey (Sherri) Kerzan, Chadwick Kerzan, Ruth Ellen Gray, and Rusty Gray; along with her great grandchildren, Becca, Rachel, Matthew, Adam, Amy, and Michael; and her beloved dog, Zackary.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robert and Max Linneweber, and a sister, Marilyn Johanningsmeier.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday August 15, 2017 at Bethel Church in Freelandville with Mike Chappell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Monday at the church from 4 to 7 pm with memorial contributions being made to the Vincennes Pet Port or the Bethel Church. Online condolences may be made to www.goodwinfamilyfh.com
