Wednesday robbery and Thursday fire under investigation in Vincennes

            A robbery that happened Wednesday in Vincennes remains under investigation.  A man with a beard and sunglasses and a black and red ball cap who is described as white, tall and slender, entered Discount Tobacco on North 6th late Wednesday morning.  Reports were he had a gun on him but did not pull it out.  He left after taking some money and merchandise.  He was driving a gold, late model, Pontiac Grand Am.   Anyone with any information that could help police should call them in Vincennes at 812-882-1630.

VINCENNES FIRE

Vincennes City fire crews are continue to investigate a fire that happened around two yesterday morning at 12 East Swartzel.
Firemen responded a report of fire at the residence owned by Song Kim. Fire crews reported finding flames coming from the front of the residence. The home was occupied by Linda Portee, her daughter Lisa Portee, and Michael Wilson. Authorities say all three escaped the house safely.  Fire crews stayed on the scene for just over two hours. Local crews are calling in the Indiana State Fire Marshal’s office to help in the fire’s investigation.
