Julia Ellen “Judie” Griffin, age 77 of Bridgeport, passed away surrounded by her family early Thursday morning, August 10, 2017. She was born in Lawrenceville on May 11, 1940 to Paul and Delora (Boone) Goodlink.
Judie married George Griffin on June 26, 1992, and he survives.
She was a homemaker to her family and loved being involved in her kids’ and grandkids’ lives. Judie had worked as a secretary at the United Methodist Village, Golden Rule, and other local businesses. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Lawrenceville Moose. In addition to spending time with her family, Judie also enjoyed fishing and watching “her” Chicago Cubs play.
Surviving family includes: her husband- George Griffin of Bridgeport: four daughters- Robin Boyce and husband Bob of Robinson, Sandra Keepes and husband Bruce of Mt. Carmel, Shari Smith and husband Mark of Vincennes, IN, and Lisa Foster and husband Matt of Bridgeport: two step-sons- Matt Gillum of Marion and George Griffin, Jr. and wife Connie of Evansville, IN: one step-daughter- Melissa Ingalls and husband Frank of Fishers, IN: seventeen grandchildren: eleven great-grandchildren: five sisters- Mary Webb of Lawrenceville, Barbara Ferguson of Livingston, TX, Elizabeth Siemons and husband James of Tarpon Springs, FL, Margaret Odle and husband Dan of Mooresville, IN, and Sarah Taylor of Lawrenceville: and two brothers- Jim Goodlink and Robert Goodlink both of Lawrenceville.
She was preceded in death by: her parents- Paul and Delora Goodlink: her son- Kelly Price: one husband- Jerry Gillum: two sisters- Paula Arnold and Jane Poole: and one brother- John Goodlink.
A funeral service for Julia Ellen “Judie” Griffin will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 14, 2017 at the Cunningham Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Visitation will be Sunday evening at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Monday morning from 9:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will take place in Petty Cemetery.
