Illinois State Police say a 47-year-old woman was airlifted to a hospital after a three-car crash on a Jasper County road Thursday afternoon. The accident took place at 12:01 p.m. on Illinois 130 at County Road 1300 North, which is 2½ miles north of Newton. A vehicle driven by Christina Wilson of Willow Hill was headed south on Illinois 130 with two other vehicles heading north on the same road. Wilson crossed into the path of a vehicle driven by 66 year-old Vickie Blankenbaker of Robinson and struck her vehicle. Both vehicles spun out of control and Blankenbaker’s vehicle struck a vehicle driven by 39 year-old Christopher Edwards of Lovell, Wyoming. Edwards and Blankenbaker both spun into a ditch, while Wilson’s vehicle stopped in the road. Wilson was airlifted to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, while Blankenbaker was taken by ambulance to Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon. No injuries were reported for the man, or the six passengers in his vehicle. Wilson was cited for improper lane usage and driving on expired registration.
