Edith E. “Grannie” Rich, age 98 of Lawrenceville, passed away in Newman, IL at Newman Rehab and Healthcare on Friday, June 16, 2017.
She was born in Westport, IL on October 23, 1918 to William H. and Artie E. (Sprinkle) Grange.
Edith married Doug “F.D.” Rich in Lawrence County on October 3, 1936, and he preceded her in death in 1997.
She was a long-time member of the First Christian Church of Lawrenceville and took pride in being a homemaker to her family.
Surviving family includes: her son- Jerry Rich of Bridgeport: two grandsons- David Rich and his wife Marcey of Newman, IL and Ryan Rich and his wife Jo of Salem, IL: two granddaughters- Kelli Maxwell of Newman, IL and Cari James and her husband Kyle of St. Charles, IL: two great-grandsons- Zachary Rich of Colorado Springs, CO and Hen-Doug Rich of Salem, IL: three great-granddaughters- Ashley Rich and Cassie Rich both of Newman, IL and Mira Rich of Salem, IL : one great-great-grandson- Braxton: and two great-great-granddaughters- Halee and Josslyn.
She was preceded in death by: her parents- William and Artie Grange: her husband- Doug “F.D.” Rich: and two brothers- Hugh Grange of Lawrenceville and Mike Grange of Bloomington, IN.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 23, 2017 at the Lawrenceville City Cemetery. Cunningham-Young Funeral Home of Lawrenceville is handling the arrangements.
