The Daviess County Sheriff’s Department says that 62 tickets for not using seat belts were written as the results of the recent 24-day Click-It-Or-Ticket campaign. Daviess County Detective Sgt. Adam Hunt says that “seat belts simply save lives.” The U.S. Department of Transportation estimates that in 2015 alone, seat belts saved 13,941 lives. Click-it-or-ticket is an annual enforcement effort supported by federal highway safety funding. More than 250 law enforcement agencies participate in the annual program.
