The Vincennes City Council met last night. The city council approved payment of four separate City appropriations on all three readings.

One payment was $174,900 dollars for the Second and Niblack project. The Board also approved $100,000 for rehabilitation to the Vaughn Walking Trail; $800,000 for City curb and sidewalk repairs; and just under $53,000 for Police Department rehabilitation work.

The city council also heard a report from Vincennes City Fire Chief Sonny Pinkstaff; as Pinkstaff broke down the use for a grant they recently received from the federal government. The money came from the Assistance to Firefighters Grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Some of the money will be used to purchase mobile data terminals to be used in each Fire Department vehicle. The terminals will allow mapping and other data gathering and retrieval from the vehicles.
