A Newton man was killed in an accident that occurred at the intersection of Illinois Route 130 and Cherry Street in Olney Sunday night. 37 year-old Annette King of Olney was driving north Route 130 near Cherry Street shortly before 10 p.m. At the same time 48 year-old Timothy Eads of Newton was leaving work and was walking across Route 130, which does not have a crosswalk. King told Illinois State Police that she did not see Eads and struck him in the roadway. State Police noted that the roadway was dark and that Eads was wearing dark, non-reflective clothing. Eads was taken to Richland Memorial Hospital and was later transported to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. The investigation into the accident continues.
