Authorities say an 8-year-old girl was found dead in southern Illinois after she was reported missing.
In a statement, Illinois State Police say someone reported the girl missing on Wednesday evening. She was later found dead behind a building on the south side of Olney.
Authorities say the Southern Illinois Child Death Task Force is investigating the death as a homicide.
They didn’t identify the girl or say when her body was found.
