Vincennes Township and City firefighters were dispatched to a fire at the Walmart Supercenter around 7:30 Monday evening.
Eyewitnesses say the fire was located in the loading dock area at the back of the store and smoke had filled the store.
The store was evacuated.
Firefighters were able to knock down the fire quickly. Efforts to clear the store of smoke then got underway. Crews were on scene for over an hour.
The investigation into what started the fire continues.
