Daviess County Chamber hands out annual awards

DLC Media President Dave Crooks accepts the Daviess County Chamber Business of the Year Award.  DCL owns and or operates several radio stations in the region including WAMW and WFML.

 

 

 

Not to toot our own horn, but we will a bit.  DLC Media was named Daviess County’s Business of the year at the Daviess County Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet last night.  DLC Media President, Dave Crooks was caught by surprise and gave credit to his employees..

DLC Media owns and operates WAMW in Washington WAKO in Lawrenceville, Illinois, WAXI in Rockville, Indiana and recently announced the purchase of several other radio stations in the Terre Haute area.  The broadcast company also operates WFML in Vincennes which is owned by Vincennes University.

County Tourism Board President DeWayne Shake presented the Lucille Dillon Tourism Award to the Washington Knights of Columbus in recognition of their impact on the local economy. Besides the attracting large crowds to Washington’s Main Street, the K of C has donated over $100,000 to local charities just in the past month.

Out going Chamber President Melody Brunson presented this year’s     Hagel Award to Terri Kelso, Don Spillman, and Washington Mayor Joe Wellman in recognition of their leadership of Washington’s year-long Bicentennial Celebration. Wellman spoke for all three in thanking all the volunteers who had helped make the many Bicentennial events possible
