Beautiful fall like weather greeted visitors to this weekend’s Muster on the Wabash.

Local Historian Richard Day says the living history re-enactment depicts Governor William Henry Harrison mustering out the troops for the Battle of Tippecanoe in 1811.

Day says the battle played a significant role in the development of Indiana as a State.

This is the 18th year for the Muster and while some of the events are a traditional part of the event they still try to add something new every year.

In addition to battle re-enactments, children have the opportunity to go on patrol with mounted rangers and have an encounter with Native Americans.

There are also Demonstrations of early 19th Century Crafts. Day says unlike today’s shoppers a lot of the food, clothing and household items were made by hand and not purchased in a store.

The Muster is put on by the Vincennes State Historic Sites.
