Leora Mae (Cookie) Bensinger, 91, Bicknell, passed away with her family by her side on Monday, October 24, 2016 at the Freelandville Community Home.
Leora was born December 20, 1924, in Bruceville, the daughter of Alvie and Mary (Sturgeon) Cook. She married Francis J. Bensinger in 1958. She was a factory worker in her younger years and then became a homemaker. Leora was a member of the Edwardsport First Baptist Church.
Leora is survived by her daughter, Sandra Montgomery of Bicknell; grandchildren, Lisa Caley of Wabash, IN, Lori Montgomery of Plainfield, IN, Jason Montgomery of of Coatesville, IN, Barry Addison of Council Bluffs, IA, Sandra Overton of
Honeycreek, IA, Chris Addison of Omaha, NE, Robin Carmichael of Council Bluffs, IA, and Gary Addison of Elkhorn, NE; sixteen great-grandchildren; and seventeen great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Francis J. Bensinger in 1982; daughter, Judy Kay Young-Addison, in 2007; sisters, Myrtle Faith and Donna Miley; brother, Jim Cook; and sons-in-law, Jerry Montgomery and Gene Addison; and two infant sisters. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 27, 2016 from11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home Bicknell Chapel. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:00 PM also at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Edwardsport IOOF Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.fredrickandson.com.
