Naomia May (Williams) Pepmeier, 89, passed away peacefully in her sleep Sunday, October 9, 2016. 

She was born November 5, 1926, near Burns City, to Aldo and Grace Williams. She graduated in 1944 from Monroe City High School. In her youth, she worked as a bundler at the peony farms near Verne. She graduated from Indiana Business College in Evansville then worked for Indiana Farm Bureau in Vincennes as a secretary. On April 6, 1947, she wed Herman Pepmeier of Freelandville. Together they farmed and raised a family. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and various crafts and was well known for her coconut cream pies and Swedish tea rings. A member of Bethel Church, she was involved in the Christian Partners Sunday School Class and the Ladies Guild. She had also been an active member of the Freelandville Neighborly Homemakers. She and Herman used to square dance and enjoyed family vacations and traveling.
She is survived by daughters, Judy Curtis of Colorado Springs, Linda (Jimmy) Valdez of Carmel, Rita (Mike) Wampler of Bicknell, Janet Daniels of Vincennes; and a son, Bruce (Elaine) Pepmeier of Freelandville. She had nine grandchildren, Scott (Tara) and Brent (Crystal) Meyer, Chris, Ryan (Lauren) and Jason Wampler, Kelsey and Clint Pepmeier, Derek and Jordan Daniels; five great-grandchidren, Chase, Luke, and Elizabeth Wampler, Ava Meyer, and Silas Meyer. She is also survived by a sister, Mary Riess of Evansville; in-laws, Max and Norma Pepmeier and John and Patty Jackson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman on September 26, 2001; and a daughter, Joyce Ann in 1963; parents; in-laws, John Riess and JT and Barbara McClure.
A celebration of her life will include visitation on Thursday, October 13, 2016 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Bethel Church. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 14, 2016 at 11:00 AM also at the church with Pastor Mike DeCoursey and Rev. George Varns officiating. She will be laid to rest at Bethel Cemetery. Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home Bicknell Chapel assisted the family with arrangements.
