Karla Jeanne Mayo, 68, passed away at 5:15 pm on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospital.
Karla was born on June 27, 1948 in Evansville the daughter of Carlyle D. and Jeanne (Conger) Zimmer. She married Tom Mayo on July 27, 1969.
Karla was a member of First United Methodist Church. She had worked as a secretary for Shake, Lewis and Kixmiller Law Office and then owned and operated Mayo Lighting and Carpet with her husband Tom. Karla enjoyed her children and grandchildren and spending time with her good friends, especially Dave and Donna Coomer. Karla also belonged to several social clubs in the community.
Survivors include her husband Tom Mayo of Vincennes; mother, Jeanne Zimmer Kelly of Vincennes; daughter, Karmin Mayo of Vincennes; son, Tyler Mayo of Vincennes; sister, Nita Pero and her husband Bill of Vincennes; grandchildren, Domnick Tuminello of Sheridan, WY, Natalia Mayo of Vincennes; sister-in-law, Trudi Wilson of Vincennes; seven nieces and nephews and her dog Roxi. Karla was preceded in death by her father, Carlyle D. Zimmer and her father and mother-in-law, George and Bernadine Mayo.
Funeral services for Karla will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, October 3, 2016 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway with Terry Croslow officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
