Mary Elizabeth Brown, 82, passed away on Monday, August 29, 2016 at The Woodlands at Creekside nursing facility in Pensacola, FL.
Mary was born on July 22, 1934 in Lawrenceville, IL the daughter of Hugh Wilford and Mary (Crackle) Alexander. She married Joseph Eckford Brown on August 9, 1994.
Mary was of the Episcopalian faith. She received her Master’s Degree from St. Louis University and was a school teacher for Kirkwood, MO high school. Mary was also a member of Kappa Alpha Theta.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph Eckford Brown, Jr. of Pensacola, FL; daughters, Laura Jane Singer and her husband Michael of Warson Woods, MO, Rebecca Roth of Bellaire, MI, Mary Catherine Simons of Waynesville, NC; step-daughters, Stephanie Wauters of Searcy, AR., Alicia Brown of Jackson, MI; sister, Sarah Jane Alexander of East Providence, RI; eleven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her parents.
Graveside services for Mary will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, September 3, 2016 at Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Dennis Latta officiating. Burial will follow. Gardner-Brockman Funeral Home has been entrusted with Mary’s final arrangements. On-line condolences may be sent at www.gardnerbrockman.com.
