Dobson, 60 is the owner of Bill Dobson Ford in Washington. Dobson has never been a candidate for public office. He hopes citizens will give him the opportunity to represent their interests. “I’ve been a taxpayer for nearly fifty years. I want to make sure Government is efficient and we use every tax dollar carefully. I believe my experience as a small-business person will be valuable as a member of the County Council. I hope voters will give me this opportunity to serve them.”

Dobson purchased Washington Ford in 1992. Today the dealership employs 20 local residents. Bill has 4 children and they are active in the family business. Dobson attends New Hope Christian Church. Dobson added, “Daviess County is a wonderful community with great people and a bright future. I would love the opportunity to help make it even better.”

Dobson was selected by Daviess County Democratic Chairman Dave Crooks to replace Travis Linneweber on the November 8 th General Election ballot. The Daviess County Democratic Party passed a resolution in May allowing the Chairman the power to appoint candidates if there is a ballot vacancy. Linneweber recently moved out of county to accept another job and state law allows for a replacement candidate.

Crooks said, “Bill Dobson has our full support. He’s been a successful small-business owner for several years. Bill is a hard-worker and truly cares about our community. I believe he will make an excellent Councilman.”
