Virginia Hargrove Massie, 92, of Vincennes, passed away at 4:47pm Monday August 1, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospital.
She was born in Knox County May 17, 1924 to Cecil R. and Florence (Mooney) Hargrove.
She lived her entire life in Vincennes and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1942 where she was elected to the National Honor Society. She was employed both for Indiana Bell Telephone Company and Drs. Ralph Smith and Charles Hendrix office for many years. Virginia was a member of the First Baptist Church for over 50 years and worked until she was 84 at the library.
In November 1950 she married she married Chester J. Massie who preceded her in death on December 22, 1984. Both her parents and only sister and brother in law, Bernadine Tiffany and Walter “Tiny”Tiffany are also deceased.
Survivors include her cousins and many friends.
Funeral servies will be held at 1:00 pm Friday August 5, 2016 at Goodwin Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park office.
