Students seeking great careers are benefiting from a camp sponsored by Vectren Corporation and hosted by Vincennes University.
Vectren Spokeswoman Lori Sutton says the goal of the camp is to build the next generation of utility workers/
The camp was for students entering their junior and senior years in high school. Company tours, presentations by Vectren officials and VU faculty, hands-on activities, and team projects were all part of the camp.
At the conclusion of the camp, parents were invited to attend to hear student presentations and view energy-efficient homes the students constructed from banker boxes.
12 students from the camp will be invited to participate in Vectren’s Dream Big Career Mentoring Program where they can establish an on-going mentor relationship with a Vectren staff member in their career field of interest.
