A Vincennes veteran will once again be honoring fallen soldiers with a display of flags at his residence. Frank Medlen will decorate his lawn with U.S. Flags in honor of those men and women who’ve lost their lives in combat. The public is invited to come out this morning to Medlen’s residence at 2385 East Henry Sievers Drive and help plant the miniature flags. The ceremony will get underway at 9 am this morning. Sammy Davis, a Vietnam veteran and Medal of Honor recipient will deliver a speech prior to the planting of the flags. Medlen says if people want to bring a picture of a family member who served in the military he will laminate them on site.

Last year a total of 7-thousand U.S. Flags were planted. This year, Medlen has over 33,000 to plant. If you can’t make it this morning, Medlen reminds folks that they can come out all day today and he will hold back some flags so hopefully everyone has a chance to place a flag.
