Lyons Raceway Park, a drag strip near Lyons Indiana, has announced that the management has agreed to an offer to purchase the facility. As of July first the current owner, Ohio Oil Inc. will discontinue management and operation of the facility. spokesperson Steve Miller confirmed that a confidentiality agreement with the potential purchasing group has been signed and no further information is available.
Ohio Oil Inc. CEO Brent Jones confirmed the potential sale and said, “The Jones family truly appreciates all of the competitors and spectators that have supported the racetrack over the last seven years. This is an extremely hard decision to make but it is in the best interest of our company to move on this opportunity.”
Jones also detailed a plan to compensate parties that hold a financial stake in the operation of the facility including current sponsors and racers.
