The Good Samaritan Foundation has established a scholarship to benefit current or future medical school students from the Knox County area.

According to GSH President and CEO Rob Mclin, the Good Samaritan Medical Student Achievement Program is designed to encourage future physicians to practice medicine at GSH.

Criteria for the scholarship states students must be accepted or currently enrolled in medical school, provide proof of financial need, and must write an essay stating their reason for entering the medical field.

By accepting the scholarship, the student formally agrees to begin their medical career at Good Samaritan upon the completion of medical school and residency.

The scholarship will be available beginning in August and students interested in applying should go online to www.gshvin.org or stop by the foundation office.
