Two juveniles charged in this week’s Vincennes fire

Vincennes Fire Chief Sonny Pinkstaff says two juveniles have been arrested in connection with an arson fire earlier this week at 710 N. 11th Street.

Pinkstaff says charges of arson causing serious bodily injury and arson of another’s property have been filed against the two youths. They are being held in the Southwest Regional Youth Village pending their initial court appearance.

Pinkstaff credited the Department’s fire investigator along with the State Fire Marshall’s office for working around the clock since the fire early Tuesday morning following up on numerous leads given to them from the public.

The vacant home was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived at the scene around 1 am.

Pinkstaff fireman Adam Ray suffered a fractured right leg and ankle injury while battling the blaze. Ray underwent surgery today at Good Samaritan Hosptal and was later released to his family.

Vincennes Police and the Knox County Probation Department assisted with the investigation.
