Vincennes University honored former President Dr. Richard Helton and wife Cindy with the 2016 Walter A. Davis Memorial Citation award during a banquet last evening.
The Heltons received the award for their contribution and civic leadership to the greater VU community and professional achievements. The Heltons were nominated by VU alumni and the public.
Dr. Helton says the evening was very special and they have always felt great support from the community.
Dr. Helton and Cindy say they are both grateful for the friends and family members who showed up to honor them.
Guest speakers included friends and colleagues Helen Seirp, Phil Rath, and Brent Stuckey, who shared fond memories of their time with the Heltons.
