Worker fell from the 50 overpass onto railroad tracks…………

A spokesman with the Indiana Department of Transportation says they are reviewing the circumstances that led to a laborer being injured after falling from a bridge on the U.S. 50 overpass in Vincennes Wednesday. Will Wingfield says INDOT staff did not witness the incident which happened around 8 am. Vincennes Police say the worker fell from the bridge and landed on the C-S-X railroad tracks behind Alvis Music. The worker was quickly transported to Good Samaritan Hospital and later moved to St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville. The worker was employed by Illinois Constructors Corporation of Elburn, Illinois. The company had been hired by INDOT to maintain and replace five bridges in the Vincennes area, including the twin bridges C-S-X railroad, Old U.S. 50 and Old Wheatland Road as part of a 6-million dollar contract.
