Joseph Elbert Timothy Miller passed away Friday, May 20.

 

 

 

 

Joseph Elbert Timothy Miller age 82 of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Friday, May 20, 2016 at the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. He was born November 16, 1933 in Monroe, Louisiana, the son of Charles and Annette Pierce Miller. He married Karen Hartman on June 02, 1969 and she survives.

Timothy taught in the Bridgeport School system for 44 years. During those years he served as Grade School Band Director, Principal and Teacher. He was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church, serving as choir director and organist. He was active member of St. Vincent De Paul. He gave piano lessons in his home, enjoyed many types of music, and was passionate about genealogy, gardening and flowers. Lastly he served his country as an U.S. Army Veteran in Korea.

Preceding Tim in death were his parents and one brother Charles.

Survivors include his wife Karen, one son, Chris and wife Bethany Miller of Pawleys Island, South Carolina, one daught er, Valerie and husband Jeffrey Wilson of Lawrenceville, Illinois. Two grandchildren: Hannah Miller and Jacob Wilson.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 25, 2016, 10:00 a.m. at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5:00 p. m. till 7:00 p.m.at the Emmons – Macey & Steffey Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery. Memorial donations in Tim’s honor may be made to the Cancer Society.
