Mayor Estabrook reports Bicknell is financially strong and touted recent accomplishments.

Bicknell Mayor Thomas Estabrook briefly addressed the city council last night on the current shape the city is in. Estabrook spoke highly of what they have accomplished through the first five months of the year. Highlights that Estabrook addressed include the blight elimination program which has torn down abandoned houses in the community, the board of public works replacing old storm water drains, a new online training system for the police department, and the cleaning the city’s drinking water by replacing old water pipes. Estabrook stated the city is financially strong, thanks in part to department heads keeping operating costs down. Before wrapping up his speech to the board, Estabrook touched on some goals for the future such as road maintenance and improving the city’s parks.
